Could you provide some additional info? Is it a wired or wireless connect? If its wired and the wire is plugged in then find the terminal application and enter sudo ifconfig that will display your IP address you want to see some ip address there besides the 127.0.0.1 for lo device if not post what you do have. There maybe a better way to get this info but this is the only way I know.

Please read this guide on how to ask a question to get the best results: http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...Ask_a_Question. Your subject says nothing about the nature of your urgent problem, which makes it difficult for forum members to know if they have knowledge that could help you.

With regard for your problem, go to the main menu (the button at the left end of the panel at the bottom of the screen) and left-click the button. In the menu, look for Internet or Network category. Click on the one you find, then look for something to do with network devices. That would be the place to find setup software to setup your internet connection.

Since you say nothing about your network hardware and type of connection (modem, cable, etc), I can't help you beyond the suggestion I've given above.

Doesn't seem all that urgent to me.
