'KDEInit could not launch 'kdesu'' error

Whenever I open a KDE desktop app as root I get an annoying dialog box saying

Code:

KDEInit could not launch 'kdesu'

which I have to OK to make go away.

To clarify, these are applications opened using a taskbar button which I have configured to launch as root using Properties > Application > Advanced options.

What could be causing this?

Can you launch kdesu manually? From the command line or menu or something?

Got it nailed.

For some reason this error message only arises when the application is 'run as a different user' (in Properties > Application > Advanced options).

The solution, on my system at least, is to uncheck 'run as a different user' and instead insert 'kdesu' before the command in Properties > Application, i.e., 'kdesu kdf'.

No more popup.
