Does anyone know how to get a DHCP connection with this kit:
Zaurus SL-C1000, PdaX or Cacko 1.23, rt73 or rt2570 USB Wifi
tried the usual set of wifi start interface commands with USB using the iwconfig command then issued:
result: interface goes down with no Internet connection.
after modifying the kernel, dhclient ran, but, again, with no internet connection.
is there a manual way of starting a Wifi Network connection with this setup using ifconfig ?
my AP is at 192.168.1.254
CF 802.11b works adequately in mananged mode, I can get a DHCP based connection, but very very poor ad-hoc mode (lasts about 30 seconds then dies totally) not tried ad-hoc with USB Wifi yet.
any ideas for DHCP with USB Wifi then folks ?
thanks a lot !
PdaXii13 is a great OS, but, If I can't get this issue resolved, I'm going to (heartbreakingly) sell my lovely SL-C1000 in favour of the OQO x86 pocket Computer. I really don't want to do this, so please help !
What is the BASH command sequence to do that ? do you use ifconfig ? if so, should it work if your using a DHCP Wifi AP as long as the Netmask is the same ?
If it does use ifconfig, I have tried, but still no internet connection. I would appreciate you listing out the correct
sequence of BASH commands so I can try this properly. thanks for your help so far.
