Assuming your local, internal network settings are:
NetMask = 255.255.255.0
IP range = 192.168.1.0-192.168.1.255
Broadcast = 192.168.1.255
IP address of your Linux box = 192.168.1.10
this should do it (this is off the top of my head, to be sure check the
manpage for ifconfig):
