xinetd port 32768, 32769 normal?

I just did a more or less standard install of RH9 on a laptop. Just looking things over on first boot I noticed that 32768 was open by apc.statd and that xinetd had 32769 open. I turned off nfslock (read about it somewhere) and after reboot only 32768 is opened, and by xinetd. What is this for? It's not on one of my other comps, so what is it exactly? (Other comps is RH9, but different config, and desktop.) Any ideas/help is greatly apreciated.

xinetd is a daemon that listens for connections and then starts the appropriate daemon(s) and transfers (or what it's called ) the connection to that daemon, if the connection is allowed. See man xinetd for info.
