Xdmcp
Hi frnds
Hi Thanx for your help. But I am able to see the linux machine in my network neighbourhood. now when I try to enter the machine it asks for the password It is asking for some password for \WOLFRAM\IPC$. where wolfram is the name of the linux machine. Now here In windows I thought I should log out. But It doesnt allow me to log out and it hangs when I try to log out. So which password should I try with.? What abt XDMCP how should I make my linux machine respond to xdmcp connection any1 having ny idea? Dhiraj I have a windows 98 machine and in that I have installed X manager. Now I have a linux machine which is having Red Hat Linux 8.0 (Aquamarine). It is having a GUI login. Now I tried to make it into an XDMCP server using XDMCP how to but in the middle of it also I was confused. The problem is that what is the display manager for the login screen itself. I know that when a user logins he can choose his display manager. But where do I do modifications so that it becomes an XDMCP server and after this also my X manager is not showing it in the detected system. How do i convert it. And secondly why is there no XDMCP GUI configuration tool available in Linux 8.0 And what are the other options by which I can get my GUI from an X server and can the same thing be done with windows? Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated ... I found out finally that in RHL8.0 they have given how to set up XDMCP. It is in System Settings -> Login Screen and the last option there is for XDMCP. But after this now I have another problem. I clicked on Enable XDMCP and probably it is being configured as XDMCP server. But now how do I get the XDMCP login screen on my own machine. |
