X-Session soll nach Logout nicht beendet werden

Erst mal in Deutsch:
Ich möchte auf einer Linuxmaschine (Suse 8.2 mit Gnome 2.4) mich remote anmelden, Programme starten, diese sollen aber bei der Abmeldung nicht geschlossen werden sondern weiter laufen, sodass ich bei der nächten Anmeldung am System den Fortschritt beim Programm sehen kann.
ist sowas möglich?
Ok, now i will try to explain my problem in English:
i want to log on my linux server (Suse 8.2 DM&WM Gnome2.4), after i succeeded in logging into my computer, i want to start the programm (its a kind of circuit simulation) this program takes very long so i have to log off, but the programm should run on the machine and not be stopped by logging out. some hours later i want to log into my linux server again and check if the simulation has already been finished.
Is this possible?
