wvdial keeps sending random garbage to screen / terminal (Debian)
For some reason I can connect using wvdial, but while I'm connected there's random garbage being printed on the screen every few seconds.
I understand if wvdial prints output in its own terminal, but the problem is that it prints garbage even in other terminals and even in textboxes on other workspaces!
Sometimes the mouse would randomly "right click" as you can see the right click context menu appear out of nowhere, when my hand is like nowhere near the mouse.
I could be typing in a terminal and suddenly wacky letters like .~~lll keep appearing at the cursor then I have to backspace it before I can continue.
And all this stops when I kill wvdial.
Any ideas, I'm going out of my mind here.
I am also facing the same problem over linux 2.6.18 core based linux
. I am using usb wireless modem that i wanted to use.
Anybudy have any idea how to comeup from this?
The common observation I seen is that when
starting of PPPd failed due to some reason after
successfully dail by wvdial... lead to garbage
output on consol.. (I have traced it from /var/log/ppplogs (name and path may differ according to distribution)).
Onece I cured the PPPd init and I can got rid of this on huwai usb wireless modem with my fedora 6.
