Question wu-ftp: how do I get it going?

I have wu-ftp, which came with my Mandrake 8.0 distro. I want to get it running, but there is currently no help file written for linuxconf and the more obvious config files contain no comments.

Mandrake control center shows it as a service that is not running and doesn't let me start it.

Can anyone (a) tell me their startup story or (b) point me to a good setup tutorial for wu-ftp? (I want to open ftp services on my network.)

Thanks!
