WLAN dies, wlan0: privacy configuration mismatch and mixed-cell disabled[...]

Hello,

I have WLAN Intel 3945 (device driver iwl3945) in my laptop Acer 7720 which is running Arch Linux 64-bits.

Every few hours, the WLAN simply dies, I lose connection and I have this error message:

Code:
wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:1c:df:ce:5e:d6
wlan0: privacy configuration mismatch and mixed-cell disabled - disassociate
wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:1c:df:ce:5e:d6
wlan0: privacy configuration mismatch and mixed-cell disabled - disassociate
wlan0: authenticated
wlan0: associate with AP 00:1c:df:ce:5e:d6
wlan0: mismatch in privacy configuration and mixed-cell disabled - abort association
Sometimes the cure is to restart my router (which is a tough process, since it has no "reset" button, therefore I have to unplug it from the wall then plug it again), also sometimes I have to rmmod the iwl3945 module then load it again.

My router is a Belkin "Wireless G Router" (sorry, it does not have any model numbers) Any ideas? Is this a router or a wireless network card problem, or none?

Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem. This is what I'm getting when I try to connect to the router at the house using the iwl3945:

Code:
Sep 15 18:36:59 localhost dhcpcd[3110]: wlan0: broadcasting for a lease
Sep 15 18:37:01 localhost kernel: wlan0: direct probe to AP 00:1f:33:fe:9e:ef try 1
Sep 15 18:37:01 localhost kernel: wlan0: privacy configuration mismatch and mixed-cell disabled - disassociate
Sep 15 18:37:01 localhost kernel: e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Up 10 Mbps Half Duplex, Flow Control: None
Sep 15 18:37:01 localhost kernel: 0000:02:00.0: eth0: 10/100 speed: disabling TSO
Sep 15 18:37:01 localhost kernel: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready
Sep 15 18:37:12 localhost kernel: eth0: no IPv6 routers present
Sep 15 18:37:19 localhost dhcpcd[3110]: wlan0: timed out
Sep 15 18:37:19 localhost dhcpcd[3110]: wlan0: trying to use old lease in `/etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-wlan0.info'
Sep 15 18:37:20 localhost dhcpcd[3110]: wlan0: using IPV4LL address 169.254.51.146
Sep 15 18:37:20 localhost dhcpcd[3110]: wlan0: adding IP address 169.254.51.146/16
Sep 15 18:37:20 localhost dhcpcd[3110]: wlan0: exiting
Sep 15 18:37:23 localhost dhcpcd[3118]: wlan0: sending signal 1 to pid 3117
Sep 15 18:37:23 localhost dhcpcd[3118]: wlan0: exiting
Sep 15 18:37:23 localhost dhcpcd[3117]: wlan0: received SIGHUP, releasing lease
Sep 15 18:37:23 localhost dhcpcd[3117]: wlan0: removing IP address 169.254.51.146/16
Sep 15 18:37:23 localhost dhcpcd[3117]: wlan0: exiting

the IP4LL adress 169.254.51.146 is totally random. The router's ip range is 192.168.1.*

Things used to work alright unti I got this new Netgear WNR2000 router. The wireless settings are WPA-PSK [TKIP] with up to 54Mbps.
