Wireless router problems

Hi guys and gals, i'm having a lot of trouble setting up a wireless acess point/router.

The network
I have multiple machines running several different OSs they can all connect fine either by wireless or wired.
I have 3 routers, all have wireless capability.

The problem
I have a cisco linksys WRT54G2 that is connected directly to the Internet gateway (Linksys WAG120N) that constantly keeps rebooting (at least that's what i think it's doing). The strange thing is that the only machine that's connected to it works without a hitch, the relevant Ethernet lights stay a solid green but the power and the wireless lights do not. It will cycle from them both being solid green to the power flashing green for a short time then back to solid and then the wireless light back on to solid. I have an app on my tablet that shows wifi info and it confirms that the wireless does work for a few seconds then disappears again.

The router is set up to be a router not a gateway. It's ip is set to one not in the dhcp servers range. DHCP on the problematic device is disabled. An nmap scan does not show the problem device but it does show the machine connected to it.

What I've done
Firmware update.
Hard reset (too many damn times)
enabling dhcp in a range not covered by the main DHCP server.

My guess
My guess is that the router is trying to lease an ip from the DHCP server or the server is trying to give it an ip. I've spent about 8 hours so far trying every setting i can think of. It's doing my head in .

Sorry for spelling, it's not my strong point. Let me know if you need any more info.

Simple guess: It might just be a problem with the power supply. If you have the chance, replace it with one of the same voltage but higher ampere.

I don't think that is the problem. First of all, a DHCP server will never force an IP upon any client, the client has to ask with a broadcast packet for one. Since the device reboots, it's probably a good idea to check the DHCP server logs on what comes first, the lease or the reboot. If the lease comes after the reboot, I'd safely say it's not a DHCP issue.

It is interesting that the ethernet-connected PC is okay, but your wireless is not. I am connect through wifi to a Cisco WAG160Nv2 router. But when I started to use bittorrent, the router would periodically drop-out. It seems that "maximum simultaneous connections" on these wireless router can be very low. Once I reduced the load, the router drop-outs stopped.

Or your problem could be different. The router can generate a log, have you looked at that?
