Wink Wireless on Suse 12.1

I have been trying for several weeks to get a wireless connection going with Suse 12.1 KDE with no success. The closest I got was the icon with the key saying"waiting for authorization". I tried everything. Nothing worked. I was(am) using a Netgear WG111v2 dongle and Netgear 614 wireless router.
I'm posting this for the people who are new or aren't "command line code writers". I still have some issues but it works.
I re-installed 12.1 and used Gnome instead of KDE. I had not used Gnome before but I was willing to try anything at this point. During my expedition of trying to get wireless to work I ran into a command that I remembered, "/usr/sbin/NetworkManger". I reinstalled 12.1 using Gnome. I clicked on the NetworkManger icon and filled it out like I had 1000 times before. I ran the above command as root and it worked. IT WORKED! The whole thing was about getting the root command to NetworkManager which I couldn't do with KDE, I believe it has a bug.
So all I have left to do is figure out how to have it login at boot.

I hope this might help someone, who is not a "Linux" self-proclaimed "expert", but someone who is interested in Linux but has hit the wall with this wireless situation.

Good Luck.

Hi,
With KDE, did you try logging in as root? To get your current setup to login at boot, go to your network settings utility and set the connection to all users.

Isn't Linux fun? :-)
