Wireless broadband through cellular network?

I live in an area of North Carolina that doesn't have access to broadband, except for satellite.

I've been considering setting up a box with a wireless broadband card to access a cellular network for a wireless broadband account.

Most plans seem to come with some sort of data cap though, and I would like to use the network for gaming and streaming videos online.

Does anyone know of a carrier that offers true unlimited data transfer or a very high data cap?

Sprint seems to have the best coverage in my area, but their only plan has a 5G/month data cap :(

Hey Bud!

I am living in Ireland and using www.three.ie network. I own Nokia N73 and have it connected via bluetooth or usb cable in the nokia pc suite mode to my Dell Latitude D600 and dialup with kppp. Paying 9.99 euro per 1GB internet addon and if I am not watching utube or google videos (which is possible by the way so as playing neverwinter nights online works cool) it will last me a 2 weeks or more. All you have to make sure is that you have a mobile phone that works with 3G networks and can be used as a modem, how much would a browsing cost you per unit like 1 MB or 1 GB cause sometimes its not worth it. If I wouldnt be using addons I would pay 49 cents per MB which gives you around 500 euro per 1GB of downloaded data which means it would be cheaper to get a ISP :).

All you have to do is connect phone to the PC, and dial up via vwdial or kppp. I am getting download speed of 46 KB/S which is not bad. I mean it could be worse :). In tutorials in this forum you will find how to dial up a mobile phone.

If You wont succed there are plenty of howtos on the net. If this will not work we are here to help :D

Good luck

Andy
