Windows shares and supend/resume

I put this in my fstab which works fine and mounts the drive:
// /home/billy/oscar cifs username=Billy,password=inserthere,billy,uid=1000,gid= 1000,iocharset=utf8,mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 0 0

But both my windows server and ubuntu machine are set to sleep. My ubuntu wakes my windwows server via a wake on lan command when it resumes from sleep.

Is there another way I should be mounting this other than using the fstab.

Since I added fstab entry sometimes the ls command stops working and winscp stops working and I have to reboot. I presume this is due to the server not being ready after I resume when fstab is run.

Maybe I should be mounting/unmounting with a suspend resume script? How could I do this

how did you configure suspend/resume? What I mean is, did you write a script? did you make the entries in /etc/acpi/ yourself?

I think it can be done with a script. This means that the suspend-script unmounts the shares before suspending and that the resume-script waits with mounting the shares until the servers are available.

You should post your settings here in order to find out how this can be done.
