Windows internet connection sharing
Sorry, if this question has been answered before... i have found an answer to it half an year ago, but i cannot remember where i found it... :(
My father owns a Win98 Computer with a 56k modem. Now i would like to connect to the internet (with my Computer, Mandrake 8.1) using his modem connection (LAN connection). How do you set this up? |
You'll have to set up the Windows 98 station as a proxy server. One of the easiest ways to do that is with PPPshar . Once you have it installed, set up your software on the Linux machine to use the Win98 machine as a proxy server. I'm currently using (and typing this message on) that exact setup. Good luck!
