Windows domain controller and Linux

Hi to you all,

I have Windows domain controller and I'm trying to configure linux so it would get user accounts from windows domain controller and create accounts dynamically and also mount users home directories...

So Linux would not have any accounts until user logs in, linux checks account from windows domain controller and then mounts users home directory (smb).

Is this possible and if it is, could someone give me some info...

And no, throwing windows to trashcan is not an option, unfortunately :(

Do you actually need the accounts to be created on the linux machine? If not then what your after is winbind. You can set it up in the smb.conf file after adding the linux pc to the same domain as the PDC.

Winbind authenticates the user from the PDC and you can then give access to those users on the linux machine.
