Of course this could be a problem on the windows client machine but need to check this out too just in case.

I have a redhat server with SAMBA file services. I have copied all the users files into their respective home directories and mapped a network drive to their folders.

However, when I try to access a file in those folders the machine reboots itself. There are no error messages or anything, it just reboots!

Is there something I have done wrong. My apologies I am VERY VERY new to linux having the misfortune of working on windows all my life.

I am sorry too, because I'm not able to give you any Linux-side advice. But here are my suggestions for the Windows computer:
There is a possibility some protection software (such as DeepFreeze or Radix LPE Protector), even antiviruses, reboot a computer when a pheripheral is connectet or a network connection is establishe.

Yeh, I thought about that at about 3am when I could not sleep. Will try it when I get there today.
