windo$ remote installation via linux ?


Has anybody experice the possibility to install windows 2000 via dhcp, tftp and bootparamd ?
Is it right that i need a bootable image ? How can i create this ?

If you need help setting up a Linux DHCP or TFTP server, you are probably in the right place.

However, I suggest looking for info on installing Windows2K at someplace like "microsoft.com".

but microsoft

they will tell me to do this with a windwos 2000 server,
which i don`t like.
So has anyone any experice with installing a install server ?

I think that your last statment is right.
and thinking on this issue, ( never thout of it before) realy makes me want to do it. why, well because if linux can hold a second os install , linux rocks.( of course that rocks but will rock more)
so here is my suggestions:
make a image of one machine. (w2k) use use sisprep or other tool, once the image is done. copy to a samba server.
use a boot disk ( barts boot disk) or if you want get geek try to use pixboot, ( if nic card support it) I know that red hat does it supported.
