wierd wired connection problems

Ok so whoever gets me the solution of this problem will have my ethernal gratitude:) I've spend to many sleeples nights wondering about it and even on other forums they couldnt help me.

so my problem is- I'm connected to the internet via eth0, IP, Gateway, DNS... every setting is correct. and i also know that I'm connected because I can acces my university website(this doesn depend on internet- just on the connection to their server). BUt now the problem is that I can not acces any internet site, because it just keeps loading indefinitly. And the update manager also cannot gather new updates.
I can succesfully ping and host any website. I can also use pidgin(gmailtalk).
I'm using ubuntu 9.04.

here is the result of ifconfig -a

I've tried, but my etc/modprobe.d/aliases file is empty.. have no idea why. I've also tried disabeling ipv6 using other methods, no luck..

but why would enabled ipv6 caused such problems, and isn't ipv4 the primary protocol in 9.04?
