why dhclient.leases gimme a differente info than ifconfig?

Im in doubt about this!

With the command ifconfig, i have one info about my connection

But verifying the file /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.leases, i saw the IP and BROADCAST are not the same, see below:

lease {
interface "eth1";
fixed-address 192.168.2.167;
option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;
option dhcp-lease-time 3600;
option routers 192.168.2.254;
option dhcp-message-type 5;
option dhcp-server-identifier 192.168.2.254;
option domain-name-servers 192.168.2.254;
option dhcp-renewal-time 1800;
option dhcp-rebinding-time 3150;
option broadcast-address 192.168.2.255;
renew 1 2012/05/14 03:31:37;
rebind 1 2012/05/14 03:54:46;
expire 1 2012/05/14 04:02:16;
}

ifconfig

inet end.: 192.168.2.110 Bcast:192.168.2.111 Masc:255.255.255.0

When i use a proxy on playstation 3, it does not matter fi i put 192.168.2.110 or 192.168.2.167, both of the are acceptet!

Someone can explain me why?

Wich means the two different results?

Ps: my internet provider uses dhcp, but i put it manually on my system.

What else do you have in /var/lib/dhcp ? In my system dhcpclient.leases is empty and is dated way back probably around the time Linux was installed. There is a bunch of other dhcpclient-xxx.lease files where xxx is a long hexadecimal string. The one dated today has the correct lease information in it.

Run "ps -fC dhclient".
Is there an -lf argument?

From the dhclient manpage:
Code:
-lf lease-file
      Path to the lease database file. If unspecified, the default DBDIR/dhclient.leases is used.
      See dhclient.leases(5) for a description of this file.
