Which ports to allow through firewall for X Server?

I am new to Linux. I am running Yellowdog Linux 3.0.1. I use my linux box to connect to a UNIX machine. I am working on the UNIX machine remotely (displaying its windows on my machine). This seemt o work fine with my firewall turned off, but not when it is turned on with the medium or high security settings. Here's my question: I would like to keep my firewall on, but only allow the ports I need for me to display these windows remotely. Can someone tell me what ports I need to allow in my firewall settings? Thanks!

i think it's tcp/6000... or maybe a range that starts at tcp/6000...
