where is the iptable config file? what is it's name?

So i figure I would try to figure this out my slef but I looked all over and can't find it. II am using fedora core 1 currently. I need to do configure iptables but I can't find the file. thanx for any help. Also on a side note. When I go to services to see which services are running etc I see iptables. When I click on it my machine freezes up. Not like windows freeze. I can still do other things its just that one window becomes unresponsive and I have to ctrl+alt+esc to kill it. Any idea what may cause that?
