What file format to use for cross-platform network?

I am trying to put together a small network of three computers, one running Windows XP, one running Mac OS Tiger, and one running linux (probably Debian).

What file system should I use to format the shared hard drive. I would like each system to be able to read and write. If this is not possible, then what file format could I use that is windows/linux compatible (minus the mac OS).

Thanks, I appreciate it. By the way, I'm a linux newbie...this will be my first experience installing any version of linux on any computer.

All 3 can read/write fat32, but I don't think you can have files over 4Gb on fat32. I hear that linux has experimental ntfs write support but I don't know how well it works as I haven't had to use it. or how it would work with the mac. I don't have any crappy windows boxes around here so I'm using hfs+ (with no journaling) on my external drives; and can say that linux can read and write it just fine with no 4gb limit.
