what could it be?

I use gnome-system-monitor and I noticed when I was playing an online game it sends 246 bytes and 150 bytes receives and 60 sent and received other bytes. It uses some of my cpu which bothers my performance and my ping gets goes up a bit when I'm playing online. the 60 sent and received I only receive when I'm off the online game. So the other 246 and 150 bytes are from that game only. So I would like to know how I can fix at least the 60 bytes I'm always sending and receiving. Is there a way I can know what this is thats making it do this and stop it?

if you want to see what the network traffic is, just use wireshark to capture it.

btw, please use more insightful thread titles in future. "what could it be?" give's no info about your question.

And those small transmissions are, most probably, just the "keep alive" traffic between your router and your system.

Im not using a router but I am using a physical firewall that needs no configuration and I did try it without the physical firewall but its the same thing but I will try this wireshark it seems good. I hope this can resolve my problem thanks.
