Website Print Network

Hello,

Running a coffee shop wi-fi operation and built a website that allows customers to have additional services. Subscribers get discounts etc. and I wanted to offer free printing to subscribers. I really have no idea how I can handle this from a webiste site though. Using apache / php / Mysql / Slackware for the site / authentication etc.

Thanks for any idea's

Well.... you could use samba to provide print services, and use the website to manage samba accounts through some creative PHP work.

The Internet Print Protocol IPP is handled well by 'cups'..

Clients can then browse for the printer using the native OS client by supplying the ip address when a url is aked for. Linux clients may have to complete the printer name as well..
Cups can restrict who may connect in it's config file..
