Unhappy Webserver Help

HI,

Im the most newbie-istic Linux person there is (i was raised on windoze). Well, here's my problem:

I've installed Mandrake 8.2 on my P166mhz and have gotten the ethernet card working, my other Windows computers find the Linux's Apache's website. I have a DSL router connected to my Windows computer and out my NIC to my HUB, from there to all the other computers. What I'm trying to do is this: My external IP is, 170.215.89.150, When i type that in Internet Explorer, it comes up with my router configuration... not the webpage. I've port forwarded the Linux's IP (192.168.0.65) on ports 80 and 21. Ive asked several of my friends to test the external IP as well, however their browser finds no page at all. I'm really new to Linux, so if you can help out great!

I think something went wrong in doing port forward. I am not much sure what it is. But running a network scanner like nmap on your router won't be a bad idea.

I downloaded GFI LANguard network scanner (for windows). It detects all of my computers, except the Linux one (maybe because it's a different OS???). It also detected my router (on 192.168.254.254) and says it has 21, 25, 23, 53, 110, 389, and 80 ports open...

Usually routers keep that port open for admin purpose. Take your linux m/c from network and scan that port again. If it is the kind of port forward that I understand ( forwarding the local port on your linux box to router port ) then you should not see the port as a web port ( Atleast nmap does that. I don't know about your scanner ). Try telneting to that port in your linux box also. Or you may try something like "links localhost" on your linux m/c.
