WEBMIN: Remote connection problems (IP)

Hello,

I am trying to connect my webmin from my mobile iOS phone without any luck, the problem is NOT isolated to mobile browsers as I tried three different devices, mobile, tablet, computer results same. I've also tested on a VPN and proxy same results.

The problem:

When connecting to the address https://(domain.com):10000, webmin will redirect the connection to a private IP on my LAN.

(domain.com):10000 will display 192.168.1.XXX:10000 on my browser and of course, my remote connection is then trying to connect to a LAN address.

Testing:

I've tested with and without SSL no luck..
I've tried different DNS servers.. no luck
Connecting to Apache is fine, connects okay with correct domain
connecting to any other service on the linuxbox is fine

Recent activity:

was testing out DNS BIND, didn't like it got rid of it,
changed DNS proxy on router to route (domain.com) to private ip so
SIP phones could work without having to manually change from LAN IP to domain every time I leave the Network Coverage Area.

Domain.com (not literally) points to a private ip 192.168.1.XXX (same as the problem IP) when on the LAN network.

Settings:

Network parameters are static IP 192.168.1.XXX with public DNS servers to avoid any trouble. DNS from the box points to google 8.8.8.8

Suspicion:

I suspect that webmin is not using the public DNS and is somehow using the LAN DNS proxy which is telling my browser to connect to 192.168.1.XXX

or;

DNS cache needs to be flushed on webmin to update it since I was fking around with the DNS BIND before which had it point there.

any input or help with this problem would be great because im stuck

Log files:

No further information regarding this issue indicated in the debugging log file
the access log file doesn't even show an attempt made from any public (remote) ip - except in past before problem

Others:

performed nslookup from the server on (domain.com) and it is coming back with the correct public IP not the LAN IP.

Flushed DNS with sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart .. no effect

Problem resolved

I've seem to have resolved the problem by flushing the server box dns cache and deleting the arp tables, got a fresh update from the dhcp server to assign an ip then changed back to static.

on the iOS side, I had to go into settings --> Safari --> Clear history and website data, which flushes the dns

now it works
