wake on lan

hi all,

i know that u can turn on a pc from the local network by sending an magic package to the aim pc.

So i was asking myself and thats my question if it would be possible to wake up a pc from a ssh that is behind a hardware router?
Is that possible? I mean something like wake on wan.
Does such an opportunity exsit or is that not possible?

Not using ssh - you could ssh to a server that was on and then issue a WoL command from there though.

my computer used to wake up on its own and i didnt know why, it kept pissin me off. i wasnt sending any "magic packets". i'd just be in my bed sleep...and it would come on on. i did notice that the behavior stopped if i unplugged the network cable from the wall. strange

the card is a linksys lne100tx

this produced no extra information to this thread and i probably shoulda kept my comments to myself....but what they hay...
