Sure you can. That's what the per user configuration is for. For user1 the file looks like:
Code:
dirlist_enable=NO
download_enable=NO
local_root=/var/www/html/user1
write_enable=YES

ok markus,

i can now use
user1 --> /var/ww/html/user1 and
user2 --> /var/ww/html/user2

to get them to their own dirs and upload, delete things
Thats fine. Thanx.

But is there any opportunity to say
if a user uploads things that the pre definied access modus is 777 i.e.? At the moment it is 600 if i upload things.

U know i dont want to change the access mode after an upload with chmod 777.

greetz

P.S: chmod_enable=YES doesnt work for me

hi markus,

now i updated to version 1.2.0 instlling by hand puh,
but chmod_enable=YES still dont work here.

In my ftp client i get an 550 Permission denied error if i use the chmod command in my ftp client.

Heres my general vsftpd.conf:

anonymous_enable=NO
local_enable=YES
write_enable=NO
anon_upload_enable=NO
anon_mkdir_write_enable=NO
anon_other_write_enable=NO
anon_world_readable_only=NO
chroot_local_user=YES
guest_enable=YES
guest_username=virtual
pasv_min_port=30000
pasv_max_port=30999
user_config_dir=/etc/vsftpd/users

The following lines are a user conf:

anon_mkdir_write_enable=YES
anon_other_write_enable=YES
anon_upload_enable=YES
local_root=/userdirectory
write_enable=YES
chmod_enable=YES <---- i tried it also in general vsftpd.conf

What i am doing wrong?

I'm sorry for the late reply I didn't thought there would be another post. However I will cover the topic at my website pretty soon (will start writing probably today).

Chroot the the local_root

Hi all!
Just a question.
Is there a way to "jail" a virtual user?

I mean if a user is redirected to /data/users/foe
with his /etc/vsftpd/users/foe => local_root=/data/users/foe
is there a way to jail him in /data/users/foe???

Thanks in advance
