VSFTPD Problem

Ive installed VSFTPD and it seems to be running. Only problem is connecting to it from other computers or from itself. It keeps coming up with connection refused, but ive allowed the ports to be used etc im puzzled.

Anyone know why it wont work?

Hi there.

I´ve had the same problems with my firewall and xinetd config. Are you using xinetd by the way?

First of all try ftping locally on your machine (ftp localhost). If you get a connection refused. Try flushing your iptables FILTER table (just for a while) and try to ftp it again.

I´ve had the same problem and it still went wrong. After that I found some problems within the xinetd config. But we don´t know if you are running it through xinetd or if you run it as a service.

Yup configuration errors within xinetd generated "connection refused" response too!
