I assume that you are talking about the same computer, it can command line ftp to it but fails to work with the browser.

Does the browser prompt you for a password? If not, perhaps it is set to try anonymous by default. You can probably turn that option off. Try the following, open your browser and use ftp://user:password@xx.xx.xx.xx

Hope this helps

yes when i do ftp://user@xx.xx.xx.xx the browser ask me for password once i click ok i could see that its trying to locate the folder on the ftp server and thats when i get the error messages.
Also, it does that either i specify a user or i try to lon in as anonymous.

Again i could use the command line to reach my ftp fails to work with the browser and i am talking about the same computer

Thanks
