vsftpd or wu-ftpd

hi everbody
i just wanted to know which one of the above package is better for ftp service
i haven't tried proFTPD yet.
also how to implement the "chroot jail" for these ftp servers

I would recommend vsftpd. You can set up chrrot by setting chroot_local_user to yes. You can override it for certain users using the chroot_list_file. For a list of configuration commands and usage details see:
man vsftpd.conf

wu-ftpd has a long history of security problems. So far as I know, the "vs" in vsftpd stands for "very safe", which is a good thing when it comes to FTP daemons.
