Vsftpd chroot directory?

I was just checking vsftp and for anonymous login it lands me in a chrooted /pub directory

where is the actual location of this /pub in the file system ?

I am unable to find the related setting from the conf file

Hi,

This depends on the Linux distribution you're using, but usually the anonymous chroot directory is /var/ftp.
If you don't have a "anon_root" option in vsftpd.conf, then this directory is defined by the homedir of the ftp user

Regards

You can use:
Code:
anon_root=/path/to/somedir
Make sure that you have the correct permissions for the ftp user and if you're using SELinux, that it's not going to deny access to that directory
