vsftpd & ssl ports

Hi all,

I have setup vsftpd to establish ssl connections. Everything works great if I allow my firewall to accept all connections, but as soon as I start locking down my firewall I am no longer able to login into vsftpd.

I have tried opening ports 989 and 990 on my firewall, but to no avail. Any ideas on what I am missing?

How can I still allow vsftpd with ssl connections and have my firewall doing its job? Thanks
