Question vsftpd 550 upload error

I have these set as so...

anonymous_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
anon_upload_enable=YES

folder permissions set at 777

but when i try to upload i get ...
STOR /pub/upload/uploadq.dat

550 Permission denied.

ive read some other threads and some manuals but it still doesnt work, any ideas?

Look at the anonymous ftp section. Mentions that both vsftpd and wu-ftp look for a specific directory: /var/ftp/pub
