vsftp large file download problem
Hi all,
Has anyone experienced problems downloading/uploading large files/directory trees using vsftp? I've been trying to upload a 2GB file but have been unsuccessful. It appears to timeout after a few minutes. I reset the default timeout settings in vsftpd.conf but it didn't help. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Keith |
Hi kmrob72.
I am having the exact same problem. I checked the vsftpd log file and it seems that the connection is closed on average after about 7.5 minutes. This is a big pain in the kazu for me since I have people that have to upload files to my server using a dial up connection (the server itself is on a T1 connection). If you do find a solution to this I would really appreciate it if you could share it. I will do likewise if I'll find it. P.S. My server is behind a firewall and an antivirus appliance. |
The settings for vsftp time outs can be found in /etc/vsftp/vsftp.conf on linux boxes
Just edit your config file and restart vsftpd |
Thanks for the reply!
The problem here was the antivirus appliance which dropped connections on TCP port 21. After configuring it, all was well. Thanks again. Leo. |
Hi,
Have the exact same problem, change the settings in the .conf file, restart vsftpd, but still have the same problem, you mention something with the antivirus, what is it exactly, maybe I have the same problem, how do I check that with my antivirus, I use Norton System Works 2004. Thanks a lot, David. |
