Hopefully this isn't too noobish. I'm trying to set up an ftp server with vsftpd 2.0.5 on a debian/testing server. I can connect locally, but any attempt at remote access, including accesses from other machines on the local network, hang after asking for the username but before the password query.
Netstat -a shows that ftp is listening. Here's my vsftpd.conf file:
Code:
listen=YES
anonymous_enable=NO
ftp_username=ftp
local_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
local_umask=022
dirmessage_enable=YES
xferlog_enable=YES
connect_from_port_20=YES
idle_session_timeout=180
nopriv_user=nobody
chroot_list_enable=YES
chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list
secure_chroot_dir=/var/run/vsftpd
pam_service_name=vsftpd
rsa_cert_file=/etc/ssl/certs/vsftpd.pem
local_root=/srv/empty
passwd_chroot_enable=YES
pam_service_name=vsftdp
My guess is that vsftpd is set up correctly, but something else is screwed up on the server. Any ideas?
