vpn only when destination matches given subnet

Bit of an odd one this, but I'm sure someone will be able to help (hopefully)!

I'm hoping to create a vpn tunnel to my home machine from work but would only like it to be active for connections to certain addresses (ie. my proxy or mail server).

I know it can be done because I'm using this type of system to access my corporate network from a customer's site. It runs using the client program aventail connect.

I suppose my question is really; is there a vpn client that I can use other than aventil for this?

Hope my question makes some sense!
