VPN Gateway Problem

Ok story time....I have 3 computers. One is setup as a router for my cable modem connection, one is a windoze xp machine, and the other is another linux box. The linux box and the xp machine are both using the router as a gateway to the internet. Until this afternoon everything was working fine but for some reason in the middle of the day today my AIM was disconnected on the windows machine. I checked it out and for some reason i can browse websites through IE and Mozilla but my AIM won't connect and some of my other network apps don't work however MSN messenger does work. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Thanx in advance!
