vnc startup application question

I've been using vnc quite happily for awhile now, but with one minor annoyance that I can't seem to figure out. After starting the vncserver, the first time I login it has always started a terminal session, and a nautilus window. I've checked ~/.vnc/xstartup and /etc/X11/xinit/xstartup, and read the ~/.vnc/*.log files, but to no avail.

Would someone be able to provide me with a clue on where to find/change the global default startup applications that are ran when I fire up vncserver?
