VNC on Suse EL

Hi guys,

I hav installed VNC 4.1.1 on my Suse ES 9 linux machine having kernel 2.6.5-7.97 I am trying to connect to this machine using VNC from windows XP. But everytime I try to connect I get an error msg. 'Unable to connct to host: Connection refused (10061).'

I checked on the linux box. The service is started and have set a password also after running 'vncserver' command.

vnc version: 4.1.1

thanking in advance.

OK.

I found out how do you do that. Here it is

But another problem. Now when I connect to this server via VNC, all I see is a shell, a crosshair and grey background. No taskbar, wallpaper nothing. Just a grey background.

If i do the same to a Red Hat ES 3, no problem. It works fine.

Do i need to change some settings in my Suse Linux machine?
