Question visualizer in ns3 !!

hiii
i got the visualizer running for ns-3.11 and tried some of the example codes but when i run mesh.cc(a code for implementing HWMP) this is what i get

assert failed. cond="!m_metadataSkipped", msg="Error: attempting to
enable the packet metadata subsystem too late in the simulation, which
is not allowed.
A common cause for this problem is to enable ASCII tracing after
sending any packets. One way to fix this problem is to call
ns3::PacketMetadata::Enable () near the beginning of the program,
before any packets are sent.", file=../src/network/model/packet-
metadata.cc, line=59
Command ['/home/cpu56/ns-allinone-3.11/ns-3.11/build/debug/scratch/
mesh', '--x-size=2', '--y-size=2', '--time=10', '--packet-
interval=0.5', '--packet-size=1024', '--interfaces=1', '--pcap=0', '--
SimulatorImplementationType=ns3::VisualSimulatorImpl'] terminated with
signal SIGSEGV. Run it under a debugger to get more information (./waf
--run <program> --command-template="gdb --args %s <args>").

i did go through some of the old posts in another blog where the same problem was faced and read the solution which is to
"call Packet::EnablePrinting() early in the simulation code"
but i didnt quite understand what it exactly means.Could you please be kind enough to explain why this error occurs, how to resolve this error and how is it resolved by calling Packet:EnablePrinting() early in the code.Sorry i am new to ns3 and coding so a little hard for me to understand all this.

Thanks

same problem

Hi, i'm facing the same problem right now. I found your post and i'm glad that you found a solution. However, you didn't found a detailed solution. Can you tell me ( if you remember of course ) the modification you made the the file "packet-metadata.cc"?
Thank you in advance.
Regards.
