Video Streaming
Hi,
I am trying to do something like a videp streaming server, so people can see my camera from everywhere. But I don't know how to do it. I am planning to use a IPCam, (I think a webcam is not a good choice) so I plann to have it on a ADSL. The goal is to make a server that can grab this video and redistribute (now using a good link). But I will need to setup up this server first. Someone knows what software is good to do this? I will use a Debian box to install, so it will need to be compatible (maybe I can change this, but is what I am planning now). So, this server will need to take the video from a IPCam and redistribute it. How can I do this? Thanks |
You can get cameras that have a built-in server hosting a web page with the video stream on it (the ones we use at work are from Axis). You may want to look at getting one of them.

The problem is how I will capture from a camera that have a bult-in webserver? Because I need to receive it on the server and redistribute to other people.

Someone knows a good streaming server, for broadcast. I read about mpeg4ip, but I don't know if its good to use. Someone have any idea?
