VIA Rhine ethernet card under Slackware 13.1 wont work.
Hello
I have had some problems with a SATA DVD drive under installation of Slackware 12.2, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...lation-865773/ So i tried 13.1 instead. That fixed the problem with the drive. But now the ethernet card is not working :) Its a VIA Rhine card, and it was recognized just fine under 12.2 The following command did nothing: Code:
ifconfig eth0 up I have also tried using netconfig, no luck there either. Any suggestions are very welcome. /mads |
What is the output of ifconfig and ifconfig -a?
Sometimes your ethernet interface gets a different number eth2 for example. It is a PCI card? Try post the output of lspci. lspci -v should tell you more about the PCI devices. |
Cards
No they are not PCI they are onboard. there is eth0 and eth1
I have no easy way of showing ifconfig -a because the machine is a server without a gui. and no net at the moment. But the output of ifconfig -a is looking normal. both cards is showing up. Any help ? |
Problem solved.
It was a router problem, Silly.
