very-very slow transfer

Hi all,

I've just installed a Slackware 9.0 on my home-lan composed of 4 nodes connected by 10/100 eth cards.
I've done a ftp test and I get an average data transfer of 80Kb/s (!!??).

Anybody knows why is so slow the tranfer?

Thanks

Ok ,

On the server side I get a 12Mb/sec speed an the client just 80Kb/sec.

How can I configure all the clients to get the normal speed?

Thanks

Does the problem occour when you are using an ftp client for windows?
Try a different ftp client program.

I have seen a big difference in performance between different ftp-client programs on windows. Some are badly programmed.

> told you the problem is only on the clients. Bahh
You did not make the problem clear. You might be running an ftp server on a windows machine. You might be using a windows machine as the server n your network.
