Unhappy VERY slow vsftpd

Hello,

I'm running FC2 on a 2.7Ghz machine with 512MB DDR-RAM. My internal lan is a 100Mbit Network, both my workstation and my Server are within 2 feet of my 10/100 Autosensing switch.

However with PASV on over CuteFTP to VsFTPd i'm getting on average, 20KB/s
with PORT again from CuteFTP to VsFTPd i'm getting 40KB/s.. Also connections tend to temporarily stall mid way. I'm rrunnign FsFTPd with tcp_wrappers on.

How can it possibly be THAT slow?

Any ideas on the problem or on at least how to identify the problem? Please

Bandwith Throttle

Does your vsftpd.conf file have bandwith throttling switched on: local_max_rate and anon_max_rate
also if there is an entry for chunk size (can't remember the exact name check man vsftpd.conf), this will cause it to be slow.

Well my apologies to teh vsftpd developers. This was a networking use. After replacing couple wires I got my transfer speeds up to about 3MB/s.

But I'm still getting alot of RX errors on the receieving eth. I'll have to start a new threat to ask about that.
