V.92 modem for linux

I am looking to upgrade to a brand new v.92 modem, But i was wondering if someone could help me out a little. Currently i have a Zoom Telephonics 56k Faxmodem... and i was looking into the Zoom/Modem V.92 External Model 3049. I am sharing out my modem to my two windows 2000 computers now, and i was wondering if this would still be a good choice to do so. By the way... could someone shed a little light on the diffrent chipsets used in a modem? Its a little confiusing to me. Thanks in advance,

The ONLY thing you want to avoid are Winmodems, 99.9999% of external modems(if not 100%) are not Winmodems as they communicate solely through the serial cable. I'm betting you're safe getting that one.
