Hey, I have seen lots of threads on this, but I can't get it figured out for myself. My computer is a hp Pavilion with Ubuntu 8.04 and I can't get it to recognize my linkSYS WUSB54GSC wireless G card.
I have played with the ndiswrapper for some time now to no avail. I downloaded the ndiswrapper from sourceforge to my flash drive and put the files into my home directory on Ubuntu. I found a set of steps from erat123 (member on this forum),
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...solved-664463/ After playing around with this information, I still was no further in my quest to be connected to the series of tubes known as the internet.
I saw the ndisgtk in the Ubuntu help center. The help section, Internet and Networks- 3.3.3, insturcted me to access the synaptic package manager. Then to install ndisgtk. There was no such file under the synaptic package manager.
If anyone has or knows where get step by step instructions on how to install the ndiswrapper, ndisgtk, or the WUSB54GSC wireless card please post! I clearly need someone to hold my hand through this.
Thanks.
