usb to usb network
i'm a newbie, so im not sure if i can do this. i have ubuntu on one computer and the other has xandros 3, i have a usb to usb crossover cable and i want to connect the two computers. the xandros is connected to cable internet and i want to share its internet connection with the ubuntu using the usb bridge cable. can this be done.

I have a usb to usb bridge and as far as I know, they are only made for transfering files from one pc to the next.
If you are useing cable internet then your modem should have at least two ports to plug a box into. couldnt you just get some network cable and hardwire ubunto? |

it will really make ur work easy if u got urself a LAN card n connect using cross cables. you will not need a swith/hub; the computer connected to the net (assuming u need a LAN card to access broadband there) will have 2 LAN cards and the other one will have 1. u can then use some proxy software for accessing net. Frankly, i have not used usb-usb, so cant comment abt that.. |
