motorola surfboard SB5120 usb modem driver

Hello, I am new to Linux. I installed Ubuntu in my Dell latitude cpx two days ago. I have a motorola surfboard SB5120 cable modem. My laptop does not have an ethernet port so I have to connect using usb. I have a cd that came with the modem. It has a driver which I installed while I was using windows in my machine. I can not install the same driver in Linux. I looked into the help topic and it says that I need to download a driver for the usb. I could not find the driver online. Does anybody have any idea about how I will install the modem and get my internet connected? I would really appreciate your kind help.

if you're going to ask a question in someone else's thread, please at the very least make sure it's the same topic as your question...in this case, it most certainly is NOT... do a search for "sb5120" and you'll probably find that the answer for this is already posted... if you don't have any luck, please start a new thread, or try bumping one where the SAME question was asked (i know for a fact this has been asked before)...
